At Virginia Hospital Center, we believe our nurses are one of the cornerstones that make the quality of healthcare we provide possible and the experience our patients receive special, and we are committed to investing in our current staff, as well as the next generation of caregivers.

As a Magnet recognized hospital, each patient we serve can be assured that their nurses are the best in their field. Upon being awarded this recognition for a second time in April 2019, Jim Cole, the Hospital’s President and Chief Executive Officer, shared, “Magnet recognition is a tremendous honor and reflects our commitment to delivering the highest quality of care to this community. | Learn More

Friends of Nursing

Our Friends of Nursing Fund was established in 1989 with a $250,000 contribution by the Caruthers Family to award the excellence of Virginia Hospital Center’s nursing staff with opportunities for advancement and to provide scholarships for aspiring nurses. Through gifts from caring friends and donors, the fund has since grown to a nearly $4 million endowment.
